Metro stations amongst
Tollygunge and Dum will soon have free Wi-Fi Internet at 4G speeds,
Metro authorities reported on Tuesday.
Travelers will have the
capacity to utilize the free Wi-Fi administration at the stations -
before ticketing counters and on stages. Be that as it may, the
administration would not be accessible on a moving train.
"Once a man enters
the stage, his/her token stays legitimate for two hours. In this way,
amid that time, while flying out starting with one station then onto
the next, he/she will have the capacity to utilize the Wi-Fi
administration," an authority said.
"Dependence Jio
Infocomm Ltd has been allowed to extend its Wi-Fi administrations to
Metro stations," said A.K. Kapoor, general administrator, Metro
Rail. "The administration is accessible at Park Street and
Maidan from Tuesday."
He said the
administration would be accessible at all 15 underground stations and
at Tollygunge and Dum.
A Reliance Jio
representative said the 4G Wi-Fi administrations will be accessible
at all stations amongst Tollygunge and Dum in a few months.
At present, the
organization gives free Wi-Fi administrations to Park Street and
different spots in Calcutta.
The representative said
there would be no restriction on the volume of downloads or surfing.
"Anyone with a cell phone would have the capacity to get to the
administration. One need not have a 4G-empowered gadget," he
said.
In February this year,
Reliance Jio had revealed the 4G Wi-Fi administration on Park Street.
Boss pastor Mamata Banerjee had formally propelled it. Later, the
office was reached out to a few different spots over the city.
